Michael Beale begged to address fans by talkSPORT pundit amid links to Rangers vacancy

Michael Beale has been heavily linked to the Rangers vacancy and Paul Parker has urged the current QPR boss to break his silence on the rumours.

But Beale himself is yet to openly discuss any of the Ibrox rumours or clarify his intentions about his future plans. The 42-year-old is currently in charge of Championship side QPR, who have only just recovered from the saga linking him to the Wolves job.

With crunch talks ongoing regarding the next Rangers boss, Parker has urged Beale to break his silence and provide “clarity” over his plans.

“QPR supporters really need some clarity on what Michael is thinking if Rangers come calling,” Parker told Record Sport.

“The club has been looking for continuity since they were relegated from the Premier League (in 2015) and the last thing they need is a manager who is sticking his hand up for every job that becomes available.

“Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand the attraction of Rangers if that’s who they choose to go for.”

Silence is telling

If Beale hasn’t come out and denied or addressed the Rangers rumours, it’s probably because he’s currently discussing the job with the Gers board.

His previous history and success at Ibrox stands him a level above his competition, and Rangers are clearly confident that he can get similar results without Steven Gerrard alongside him.

Beale’s hesitation over the Wolves proposal shows that he isn’t viewing QPR as a long-term project but instead as a stepping stone to a bigger club.

The attraction of title-challenging football and European competition is too good for many managers to turn down, and it seems to have piqued Beale’s attention too.

The next time we hear from Beale himself could well be in a Rangers tracksuit addressing the media at Ibrox as the club’s newly-appointed manager.
