Francesco Farioli, 33, wants talks for Rangers job with Peter Bosz and Sinisa Mihajlovic keen
Francesco Farioli is “keen” to hold talks with Rangers over the vacant managerial position, according to the Daily Record.
The Alanyaspor manager, at 33, is younger than multiple members of the Ibrox first team, but is reportedly eager to speak to the Light Blues about replacing Giovanni van Bronckhorst who was sacked on Monday (21 November).
Experienced former Lyon manager Peter Bosz and ex-Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic also want the job, as the race heats up.

Michael Beale has emerged as the front-runner in the short time since the Dutchman was removed from his post, but Rangers are yet to make an official approach to QPR, who hope to keep hold of the former Ibrox assistant despite director of football Les Ferdinand saying he wouldn’t stand in his way.
The Bears are currently nine points behind Celtic in the title race and crashed out of the Champions League following six damaging defeats in the group stage.

The size of the job at Ibrox is clearly going to attract plenty of interested parties, and while Farioli is highly thought of it would surely be a major risk to hand the reins to someone who only became a manager last year.
Stewart Robertson and Ross Wilson should keep an open mind and speak to a number of candidates, but given the current situation at the club it is an appointment that they have to get right.
At 33 Farioli is younger than Allan McGregor, Jon McLaughlin, Scott Arfield and Steven Davis, which doesn’t automatically mean he can’t command respect, but a drop in discipline under Van Bronckhorst after the Steven Gerrard era has been held up as a reason why standards have gone backwards so it is a key factor at this point.

Bosz and Mihajlovic would be worth considering with the amount of experience they both have, and the fact that neither would require compensation, but that shouldn’t be the primary selling point for any candidate.
Rangers have let a position of dominance in Scottish football slip badly in the space of a year, with Van Bronckhorst possessing a very poor record in Old Firm derbies and the league crown back at Celtic Park.
Beale’s previous experience of the 55th title win makes him an attractive option since that is clearly where the club needs to return to, but he comes with risks of his own as he has only been a manager in his own right since the start of this season.
In other Rangers news, one of the managerial candidates has ruled himself out of the running and tipped one of the other options for the job.
