Sean Dyche not in the running to be appointed Rangers manager after Giovanni van Bronckhorst sacking
Sean Dyche is not in the running to become the new Rangers manager after Giovanni van Bronckhorst was sacked on Monday, according to the Daily Mail.
The former Burnley boss was one of the early favourites for the job after news broke of the Dutch coach’s sacking (21 November), with Rangers looking to hold talks with four candidates in London this week.
However a fresh report on Tuesday (22 November, pg 79) claims that Dyche is “not in the running”, with Michael Beale the favourite for the job.

Settled
Dyche would have been an interesting option to take over as Van Bronckhorst’s successor considering the style of play that is associated with him.
He’s usually seen at the bottom of a table battling for safety rather than at the top fighting for trophies, so it would have been intriguing to see what he brought to the table.
But with Rangers struggling for cash supposedly and Dyche likely to be in demand later in the season when Premier League clubs start to panic, it was never a likely outcome for either party.
Beale is the most likely option now having already declared his interest and with QPR not standing in his way, so it’s possible Dyche was never even mentioned in conversations.
With Dyche a non-starter in the race and Beale seemingly close to joining, it seems that Rangers have had their plans in place for a while and are now finally putting them into action.
With only a few weeks before the season restarts following the World Cup, the quicker the club can bring someone in to give them a chance to work with the squad and get their ideas across the better.
Beale will know a lot of players already from his time at the club with Steven Gerrard, so hopefully the transition is a smooth one.
