Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ross Wilson could team up to fast-track Rangers transfer for Kenny McLean

Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ross Wilson could team up to fast-track a Rangers transfer for Norwich midfielder Kenny Mclean, according to Football Scotland.

The Daily Express initially reported that the midfielder is out of contract next summer and Rangers want to snap him up on a Bosman deal and start talking to the maestro as soon as they can.

Van Bronckhorst and Wilson may look to get McLean signed on a pre-contract, meaning they could “move forward” a deal to bring him to Ibrox in January.

“If they were to manage to get a pre-contract deal agreed, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ross Wilson could look to move that forward and snap him up in January,” as quoted by Football Scotland.

McLean is a boyhood Rangers fan which may go a long way in securing a deal for him, it’s definitely a bargaining tool van Bronckhorst and Wilson could use.

Interesting.

McLean would be an interesting proposition for Rangers, in a team that needs more creativity going forward, the Scotland international is more defensive-minded.

Nevertheless, striking a deal for the 30-year-old wouldn’t be the worst move either, he would certainly add some much-needed depth to the Gers squad.

Steven Davis is only getting nearer to the end of his playing days and Ryan Jack will see his Rangers contract expire this summer.

With all the injuries Rangers have faced this campaign, bringing in extra top talents is a must, regardless of what position they play in.

Glen Kamara and John Souttar deals can be looked upon by van Bronckhorst and Wilson to do something in a similar fashion for McLean.

The Scotland international isn’t going to come into the squad and change the fortunes of Ranger in a dramatic fashion, but he’ll add a sense of security in the engine room they are currently lacking.

In other Rangers news, Hugh Keevins was left seething at what one Gers player did very soon after the draw in Paisley.
