Rangers board fluff their lines with latest Giovanni van Bronckhorst sack stance
The Rangers board have “fluffed its lines” and will allow Giovanni van Bronckhorst to stay on as manager after the World Cup, according to Keith Jackson.
The Dutch manager has been on the receiving end of a barrage of pressure following his side’s poor start to the season, which sees them sit nine points off league leaders Celtic after just 15 games and having crashed out of the Champions League.
Rangers now have a month to regroup following this dire start, before their league season continues on 15 December when they host Hibernian.

When asked whether he thought Van Bronckhorst would remain in charge after the World Cup, Daily Record journalist Jackson said: “Yes. The accident-prone Rangers board has fluffed its lines again.
“Van Bronckhorst will remain in charge until the Old Firm derby on January 2. Win it and he’ll soldier on. Lose it and they’ll finally be forced to act.”

Clouded vision
The Rangers board have once again failed to act with any urgency, as their countless mistakes continue to pile up.
The debacle surrounding Van Bronckhorst’s time at The Ibrox reached boiling point after a poor stretch of games prior to the men’s World Cup, but their inability to act could have cost Rangers any slim hope of mounting a title charge.
Although they sit a hefty nine points behind Celtic, the power of a new manager bounce cannot be underestimated.
If the board were to relinquish the Dutchman of his duties, a new manager could then have a month to get to grips with his squad and mould them to his desired needs.
However if the news is true that Van Bronckhorst will be given till the Old Firm derby at the beginning of January to save his job, this will be too late if they stand any realistic chance of reeling Celtic in.
