Rangers promotion for Robbie Ure could save Giovanni van Bronckhorst job

Despite Antonio Colak’s superb goal-scoring season so far, Rangers have still struggled to find that spark in the final third of the pitch.

The Croatian is the top scorer in the division but nobody has been able to match his efforts or provide him with nearly enough chances which has caused Celtic to open up a whopping nine-point lead in the Premiership title race.

So Giovanni van Bronckhorst needs to find some inspiration from somewhere to resurrect his team’s title chase if he wants any chances of keeping his job as pressure mounts on his position.

Perhaps there is one youngster who could be given the chance to impress after the World Cup break with B team sensation Robbie Ure in the goals yet again.

The 18-year-old netted twice for Scotland Under-19s in a 5-2 win over Kazakhstan to continue what has been a simply sensational season so far.

His seven Lowland League goals have helped the Bears’ youngsters to the top of the division and he has four further strikes in other competitions to take his season tally in Scotland to 11.

That might not be considered as setting the world alight given Colak has 10 at the highest level of domestic football in the country but this is more than just numbers, as football always is.

Ure has a fearlessness that would be a huge boost to the senior squad who have become worried about not winning so much it is causing them to shrink into their shelves.

van Bronckhorst is among those who have seemingly lost all confidence in themselves and they really need some fresh eyes and attitudes in the group to resurrect that team spirit.

In other Rangers news, more new faces could arrive in January as the Bears are now leading the race to sign this league’s top goal scorer.
