Rangers board surely make Giovanni van Bronckhorst sack decision obvious after what Sky Sports shared today

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is a man who has come under increasing pressure at Rangers of late and is clinging on for dear life at the moment.

The Light Blues have been in dismal form, particularly in the Scottish Premiership, with a defeat to St Johnstone and a draw to St Mirren as the recent low points. Despite the poor domestic form, the Dutchman is still in charge at Ibrox.

It feels as if a decision was going to be made, it would’ve been made by now, with the World Cup break the ideal time for a new manager to come in and stamp his authority upon the players.

It’s been a period of radio silence from the club with little news emerging on van Bronckhorst’s future at Ibrox. However, a recent development on Friday 18 November, could well have made it very obvious what the board have planned.

Sky Sports Scotland have released an exclusive interview with van Bronckhorst (18 November), to mark a year in charge for the Dutchman.

The interview took place before the World Cup break. However, if the Light Blues had any intentions of sacking the 47-year-old, it’s unlikely the club would’ve sanctioned the interview to be released.

Rangers

Despite the silence from Rangers, it does feel as if this interview getting published is the board standing by their man as the pressure on his shoulder mounts.

If van Bronckhorst remains it will anger large portions of the fan base who feel his time at the club should come to an end. He simply has to turn things around immediately when Rangers face Hibernian in their first match after the World Cup break.
