Sydney FC aim brutal dig at Rangers after friendly win v Celtic
Sydney FC have taken a dig at Rangers after the A-League side beat Celtic 2-1 in the first game of the Sydney Super Cup.
The Gers’ Old Firm rivals are currently in Australia on a midseason tour with the Scottish Premiership currently paused due to the World Cup in Qatar.
However, the A-League side have decided to take a dig at Rangers after they came away victorious against Ange Postecoglou’s men.
Responding to a tweet suggested they would finish second in the Scottish Premiership, Sydney’s official Twitter account wrote (17 November): “Mind the gap Rangers…”
Brutal
Rangers fans won’t be losing sleep over this one, that’s for sure. What is more important is that Celtic’s latest defeat shows they are there to be caught if the Gers can put together a decent run of form in the second half of the season. It must be noted that Postecoglou did make changes against the A-League side.
Nine points looks like a lot at the moment, but if Rangers can put a run of wins together and beat Celtic when they face them, then anything can happen.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has to use the international break to get his players back believing in what he is trying to achieve at Ibrox. The Light Blues have been nowhere near their best this season, and with a number of players set to return from injury, there is a chance their form could turn around.
The next big date for the Gers is at the start of January when they face Celtic at Ibrox in the second Old Firm meeting of the season. It’s a fixture the Dutchman can ill afford to lose, with the pressure now really starting to mount on his shoulders.
In other Rangers news, Rangers face issues behind the scenes as a pundit suspects Glen Kamara to be sulking.
