Rangers forced into yet another U-turn as they leave fans angered by framed image
Rangers have made a handful of misjudgements and blunders this year, with their latest coming in the shape of a £50 souvenir.
Gers fans were understandably fuming this week after it was revealed on social media that the club planned to sell a £50 framed souvenir photo of Ibrox prior to the 7-1 defeat to Liverpool.
The loss was the heaviest-ever defeat suffered at Ibrox, and it also was part of a Champions League campaign that saw Rangers record the worst-ever group-stage finish in the tournament’s history.

The club have since made a U-turn and removed the memorabilia from the website after witnessing the fan backlash.
Amid what has been a torrid season for the club, putting such an item up for sale on the official website was a huge oversight and exposed a real lack of empathy with the fans.
It’s not the first time the club have failed to resonate with fans either. Back in March Rangers revealed plans to play in a four-team tournament in Australia, which included going up against rivals Celtic on foreign soil.
The plans were met with huge discontent and fans staged protests against the club, with supporters throwing toilet roll and tennis balls onto the pitch during a match against Dundee to showcase their anger. [The Athletic]
Rangers then pulled out “after it became clear the tournament organisers were unwilling to fulfil their commitments.” Sure.

Such unempathetic and out-of-touch decisions are creating a gulf between fans and the board, as the Gers supporters are treated as fools far too often.
The running of the club has been poor, communication between owners and supporter groups even worse, and the board continue to create more friction by making outlandish, bizarre decisions.
Things on the pitch have now also turned toxic and they are yet to act on Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s woeful performances. Huge change is needed at Ibrox and the board need to do far more to connect with fans, otherwise the frustration will boil over.
