Alfredo Morelos spotted in South America as Rangers future speculation swirls

Alfredo Morelos has posted on Instagram story of himself in Colombia as speculation over his future at Rangers continues to grow.

Fenerbahce are the latest club to have been linked with the 26-year-old (Fanatik, 16 November), with Giovanni van Bronckhorst reportedly contacting the Turkish club to push a deal through.

Morelos has seemingly taken time away from Ibrox and has released a picture (16 November) of himself at Bethel Playa Mayapo resort in his native Colombia.

Times up

Morelos’ time at Ibrox is surely coming towards its end with his contract expiring in the summer. His form for van Bronckhorst’s side has been fairly mediocre this season and it does feel as if now is the right time for him to leave the club.

Rangers need a freshen-up in a lot of ways over the summer and moving the likes of Morelos and Ryan Kent on could be the first step to developing a new team at Ibrox. The Colombian hasn’t helped himself with his performance levels clearly declining due to the uncertainty surrounding his Ibrox future.

Rangers

At 26, he still has a lot to offer so it’s a huge shame to see the forward not fulfil his full potential in Scotland. With Antonio Colak’s arrival, he has also fallen further down the pecking order for the Gers.

He will be eager to continue playing first-team football despite his poor form and a move to Turkey does seem like a sensible one for the striker.

In other Rangers news, the Gers are ready to bid £5million to beat Celtic to the signing of one of their long-term targets.
