Barry Ferguson shares if he would be willing to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Rangers
Barry Ferguson admits that he will find it hard to turn down the Rangers job if it is being offered to him in the current scenario.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has overseen a wretched run of form that has seen them fall away from Celtic in the league and they also ended their Champions League as the worst team in the history of the tournament.
While he hasn’t been relieved of his duties, there have been many names linked with taking over in case he is shown the door at Ibrox.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Ferguson said, via the Scottish Sun: “I can think of a few players who you could bring in there that are out of a job. One that springs to mind is Neil McCann, who has obviously done a bit of management.
“I think players like that are needed to come in and help another manager on the coaching staff, I think it’s badly needed.”
When asked if he would be willing to take over the reins, the 44-year-old responded: “Rangers is my team and I was lucky enough to have the privilege to go there and captain the club. I would be lying if I said I would say no.
“I’m enjoying my life, it’s nice and quiet, but I do think they need people who know the club and know the demand.”
Dream on
Ferguson surely will want the Rangers job as would most ex players as they’ve not really achieved much in their managerial career.
What Rangers need is a specialist who can guarantee trophies and also improve the style of play and the players he inherits.
It’s very easy to say that they need a manager that understands the culture of the club but that should not be the only criteria the board looks for before hiring a manager.
Hopefully, they go for someone like Kjetil Knutsen or Vitor Pereira as they are experienced managers and have proven themselves recently.
Ferguson would be a very temporary appointment and there would be calls to replace him over the summer as this is not going to be an easy job for any manager.
The club needs to put the fans out of their misery and announce the departure of van Bronckhorst so that there’ll at least be some excitement ahead of when football resumes after the World Cup.
In other Rangers news, Nicola Sturgeon has been called out amid a worrying recent development at Ibrox.
