Last chance saloon for Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Jack at Rangers amid fresh injury news
Rangers duo Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Jack could be set to earn a final reprieve to save their Ibrox futures when they face off against St Mirren on Saturday (12 November).
Both players will enter the final six months of their Ibrox contract in January, with neither man able to hold down a regular place in Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side this season for a multitude of reasons.
But with several injuries throughout the squad, both look set to get the nod from the start in the must-win SPFL fixture on Saturday lunchtime in what could be the last chance to impress.

Croatian striker Antonio Colak has suffered a minor muscle injury and will miss the game, almost certainly meaning that Morelos will get the nod from the start for the first time this season in the league.
In midfield James Sands had been getting the nod alongside John Lundstram in recent games, but Jack is now fit again after a spell out injured and could return to the starting lineup with the American limping off in midweek.
But during a period where the club have finally become self-sustainable financially, there is a decision to make on two players who were sure-fire starters last season.
This is the final Rangers fixture prior to the Qatar World Cup, meaning there will be a break in the season for the next month.
Once they return there will be just four games before the January transfer window opens, but you’d hope with such a big break in the middle of the season the club will be making key decisions before then.
With neither playing featuring regularly this season, it seems as though the squad may have moved past the need for having them around, and both are in their prime years meaning they won’t want to hang around as secondary options.

An impressive performance in this game could show that they are still capable of having an impact on the title race and in the cups in the second half of the season.
If they’re unable to fill in though, then it will make it far easier to part ways with them in January and get some cash rather than losing them for free, or at the very least make the decision to let them go in the summer and plan ahead by bringing in replacements early.
It really is the last chance saloon for two players who are adored by the Ibrox crowd, and they must shine against St Mirren or their time at the club could be all but over in 2023.
