Ryan Jack could be saviour for Rangers as midfielder set to return v St Mirren

Rangers will play St Mirren away from home on Saturday (12 November) in the Scottish Premiership which is going to be the final game before the World Cup in Qatar.

Ryan Jack is likely to return for this crucial game, with the midfielder being absent since early October but there are indications that he has fully recovered.

Steve Clarke named him in his squad to face Turkey, suggesting as shared by the Daily Record, that the midfielder could be back in action this weekend.

The news will come as a huge boost for Giovanni van Bronckhorst who desperately needs another win before the World Cup break.

The break will come as a massive relief for the Gers if they manage to pick up all three points, they could earn back-to-back wins, and some of the pressures will be lifted.

Another poor result – be it a draw or a defeat – away from home could definitely spell the end of the Dutchman’s reign at the club.

There have been strong suggestions from fans and pundits alike that Van Bronckhorst should leave the club immediately as the Bears appear to have regressed under his leadership.

The Rangers board, however, is willing to give him time. The Bears have lost several key players through injuries, and a fair assessment can be made when they all return to action.

Jack is an experienced midfielder who could play a massive role this season. A strong performance from him could help them secure a much-needed win against St Mirren, and that could save the Dutchman’s job for the time being.

Rangers are yet to offer Jack a new deal at the club, which is quite frustrating. After some lacklustre performances recently, his presence could lift the team to play with more positive intent – could he be the saviour this weekend?

In other Rangers news, this former Premier League manager is a “standout” choice to replace van Bronckhorst if he’s sacked.
