Pundit reacts as Ralph Hasenhuttl linked with Rangers job after he’s sacked by Southampton
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Tam McManus fails to see how Rangers would be able to lure a top manager to Ibrox to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst if he’s sacked.
Rangers beat Hearts 1-0 in a less-than-convincing performance at Ibrox on Wednesday night but huge pressure still remains on van Bronckhorst with his side seven points behind Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic with just one game to play before the World Cup break.
There has been speculation on social media about who could replace van Bronckhorst if he goes and one of the most recent names to crop up has been Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Hasenhuttl, 55, was sacked by Southampton earlier this week, leading to Charlie Nicholas telling the Scottish Daily Express that the Austrian, as well as ex-Burnley boss Sean Dyche, are contenders to be the next Light Blues manager.
However, McManus fails to see how they’d be able to lure one of those to Ibrox as they’ll more than likely be after a job in the Premier League.
“I’ve seen some of the names mentioned: Sean Dyche, Ralph Hasenhuttl… No chance. Absolutely no chance are these guys coming up to Rangers,” McManus told Ibrox News. “They’re going to want a job in the English Premier League or top-end Championship.
“I don’t see them getting Michael Beale because they’d have to pay compensation to QPR. They’ve just not got the money, Rangers.

“They’ve got their AGM on 6 December and that’ll bare the true extent of where they are financially.
“I just don’t think they’ve got the finances at the minute, even with being in the Champions League.”
Beale served as Steven Gerrard’s assistant at Rangers and since taking change of QPR in the summer, he’s done a fine job in the English Championship.
In other Rangers news, this former Premier League manager is a “standout” choice to replace van Bronckhorst if he’s sacked.
