Ridvan Yilmaz will surely be thrilled if Rangers sack Giovanni van Bronckhorst

Ridvan Yilmaz has been linked with a loan move just four months after joining Rangers, but with Giovanni van Bronckhorst on the ropes there’s reason to stay.

Yilmaz joined Rangers for £5million back in July, with the exciting 21-year-old viewed as a long-term solution at left-back.

But the Turkish international has found himself consistently left out of the lineup by Van Bronckhorst – so much so that he’s considering a loan move in January according to Takvim.

Şenol Güneş took charge of Besiktas last month and the report suggests that he wants to bring Yilmaz back to his former club on loan after being left disappointed with West Ham’s Arthur Masuaku.

Fellow Turkish clubs Galatasaray and Trabzonspor have also been circling for his signature after his slow start to life at Ibrox.

But Van Bronckhorst finds himself under huge pressure in Glasgow, and the Dutchman’s dismissal could spell great news for Yilmaz.

Yilmaz was one of Van Bronckhorst’s most expensive signings over the summer and yet he bizarrely kept him behind Borna Barisic in his left-back pecking order.

Yilmaz has enjoyed glimpses of brilliance at Ibrox but inconsistent game time hindered him from settling in and he suffered another frustrating setback in the form of an injury which will keep him sidelined until after the World Cup break.

But when football does return in December, Yilmaz could find himself in peak condition and with a new manager to play for.

He’ll certainly be hoping that’s the case.

A new manager means he’ll be handed a second chance to make a name for himself at Rangers and won’t be held back by Van Bronckhorst’s inconsistency. While a loan move back to his native Turkey seems the easy way out, Gers fans would rally behind Yilmaz if he bravely decides to stick it out and stay in Glasgow.
