BT Sport pundit raves about ‘almost-perfect’ Malik Tillman in Rangers v Hearts
Kevin Thomson and Tom Miller were blown away by Malik Tillman as Rangers won 1-0 against Hearts at Ibrox on Wednesday night.
Tillman’s 66th-minute goal was enough to earn all three points for the Gers and potentially ease some of the pressure on under-fire manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
However, it was the 20-year-old’s role in a chance for Antonio Colak that had commentator Miller and BT Sport pundit Thomson purring.

“It’s a wonderful take from Tillman,” said Miller on RangersTV (9 November, 08:21pm).
“He’s away from Devlin and he’s got Colak ahead of him.
“Colak gets a touch on it but out comes Craig Gordon. It’s a big block.
“Again, that quality on the half-turn from Tillman, he’s so difficult to deal with and Colak goes down ever so quickly here as he tries to go beyond Craig Gordon.”
Thomson then said: “It’s an almost-perfect pass as well.
“He does ever so well and shows great imagination to get away from Devlin.
“The weight of the pass is perfect as well.”

Man of the match
Rangers had a few good performers.
It wasn’t an amazing display and fans still let their anger be heard at half time by booing the players off when it was 0-0.
We were so much better after the break though.
In the first half, Tillman was heads and shoulders above his teammates and it was fitting that he was the player to grab the match-winng goal.
But is a 1-0 win over Hearts at home good enough for Giovanni van Bronckhorst?
The Dutchman’s job is under threat and he needs to be overseeing more convincing wins than this.
It remains to be seen how we’ll get on against St Mirren this weekend but it feels like he’ll have to oversee a huge win in order to stay in the job.
The board may have made their mind up already though as too many points have been dropped in the league, we’re not winning convincingly and we were humiliated in Europe.
Van Bronckhorst isn’t doing the job well enough but he owes Tillman a massive pat on the back for that goal against the Jam Tarts.
In other Rangers news, this former Premier League manager is a “standout” choice to replace van Bronckhorst if he’s sacked.
