Rangers told to hire Ralph Hasenhuttl by official partner amid Southampton sack development
The Heart and Hand Podcast would be “all in on” Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl taking over at Rangers if Giovanni van Bronckhorst is sacked.
The Athletic report (6 November) that Hassenhuttl is soon to be relieved of his duties at St Mary’s after another disappointing Premier League defeat, this time to the hands of high-flying Newcastle United.
Rangers’ official partners were quick to respond to the news and took to Twitter to show their support for the soon-to-be out-of-work manager.
“Seagulls listeners will know my long-term love of Ralph so obviously I’m all in on bringing him to Govan,” they said (via Twitter, 6 November).
No chance
There is absolutely no chance the Southampton manager would move to Ibrox. Rangers are clearly a massive club compared to the Saints, but sadly Hasenhuttl will be on a wage, which is well out of the Gers’ remit. If they could tempt him into making the move north of the border, then they would have pulled off a huge coup.
Regardless, something needs to give at Ibrox with van Bronckhorst teetering on the edge at the moment. The defeat to St Johnstone was another shocking performance from his side, with the glaring weaknesses in his squad there for all to see. A number of the players are ageing and coming to the end of their current deals.

A new manager who is properly backed in the transfer window could see the tide begin to turn for the Gers after what has been a miserable start to their 2022/23 season.
The board are certainly not exempt from what has gone wrong so this season, with the staggering lack of investment having a damaging impact on this season’s aspirations.
In other Rangers news, this Celtic chief wants private talks with the Gers after an incident that was brought up at their AGM.
