Rangers’ stance on Maccabi Haifa manager Barak Bakhar hinted before Giovanni van Bronckhorst sacked
Rangers have not opened talks with Maccabi Haifa manager Barak Bakhar despite reports of the Light Blues’ interest, according to the Daily Record.
Israeli media outlet Sport5 had reported that the Bears were slightly interested and former Celtic player Eyal Berkovic had suggested that Scottish football is weak and not worth Bakhar’s time.
“Bakhar for Rangers? Scottish football is weak, two clubs. You are close to England and if you succeed you can pass like Steven Gerrard,” he said.

But the Daily Record has moved to quash those rumours as pressure mounts on Giovanni van Bronckhorst after a humbling 2-1 defeat away at St Johnstone on Sunday (6 November).
Rangers endured the worst Champions League group stage in history under the Dutchman and they have now dropped seven points behind Premiership leaders Celtic after their weekend defeat.

Bakhar has been managing in the Champions League this season too and had an even tougher group than the Light Blues in all honesty with Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Benfica.
They may have finished bottom of the group but they did pick up a victory at home to Juve and took the lead against a star-studded PSG with Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the side.

Gers never got close to that level in truth with only the brief lead at home to Liverpool to shout about in an otherwise horrid run of fixtures on the continent.
van Bronckhorst could well be on his way out of Ibrox very soon if he can’t turn this team around and start to pick up results with just two games left before the World Cup break.
Bakhar, despite having no experience in Scottish football, could well be the answer to Rangers’ problems and relight the fire within a lot of the players at Auchenhowie.
In other Rangers news, Ally McCoist was delighted with this Gers star against St Johnstone despite the eventual defeat at McDiarmid Park.
