Keith Jackson blasts Ross Wilson for behind-the-scenes chaos at Rangers
Rangers director of football Ross Wilson should be held accountable for the club’s decay over the last 12 months, according to Keith Jackson.
The Gers have fallen seven points behind Celtic at the top of the table after a 2-1 defeat to St Johnstone on Sunday (6 November), and manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has come under huge pressure to keep his job at the club.
But writing in the Daily Record (7 November), Jackson was asked if he felt that Van Bronckhorst had been undermined by those above him and he was adamant that it was all down to Wilson and not GvB.

“Yes [he has been hung out to dry],” he said.
“The lack of strategic forward planning smacks of major mismanagement behind the scenes.
“Director of football Ross Wilson has to be held accountable for this chaotic lack of clarity. If Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos leave for free this summer it will be on Wilson’s watch.”
Get out
Wilson is a man who did a great job initially after joining the club, but as his influence has grown over the last 12 months the results and performances have fallen off a cliff and he should be held accountable for it.
He hired Van Bronckhorst and he was the man in charge of the most recent transfer windows, which saw the club bring in a boatload of cash after losing Calvin Bassey, Joe Aribo and Nathan Patterson.

Yet next to no money was spent during the transfer window, with the club relying heavily on cheap deals, loans and free transfers, and despite making the Champions League group stages the squad wasn’t bolstered accordingly.
His transfers have failed largely, his managerial appointment has failed and he has no relationship with the fans. If we could choose, he’d be out the door a long time before Van Bronckhorst.
Now the board need to ensure that action is taken, not just to appease fans but to ensure the club is heading in the right direction and that means nobody should be safe.
