Official club partner demands GvB sacked ‘today’ by Rangers amid 2-1 defeat v St Johnstone
Heart and Hand podcast have accused the Rangers players of “chucking it” and demanded that Giovanni van Bronckhorst is sacked “today” after defeat to St Johnstone.
Rangers travelled to McDiarmid Park and were beaten thanks to two fine strikes either side of half-time, with James Tavernier’s late consolation failing to provide enough for a comeback.
In response to the defeat the Heart & Hand podcast, official club partners of Rangers, demanded that the manager be sacked, claiming there is “no way back” for him at Ibrox.
“He’s got to go,” they said on their official Twitter account. “This team have chucked it.”
They then followed that up with another tweet, insisting he should be sacked today.
“There’s no way for Gio. He has to go.
“It’s the same shapeless crap constantly.
“Get rid today.”
Has to go
They couldn’t have said it any better in fairness, he simply has to go now if the club have any aspirations of getting back to the top of the Scottish game.
Van Bronckhorst came into the club with us sitting six points clear at the top of the table, but we didn’t win the title and are now seven points behind them all within 12 months.
There is a considerable gap between the clubs in the way the teams play and perform, and that has to come from the manager because the playing staff are not that different in terms of quality.
Injuries have played a part this season, but the schedule is the same for everyone and that can’t be used as an excuse in the way he tried to do in midweek.
This relationship has run it’s course and while the fans will always remember that run to the Europa League final last season, it’s best for everyone that he is moved on as soon as possible.
