Ian Crocker gives damning reflection on ‘desperate’ Giovanni van Bronckhorst after Rangers loss to St Johnstone
Rangers fell to a 2-1 defeat to St Johnstone on Sunday afternoon, and Sky Sports commentator Ian Crocker didn’t hold back in his Giovanni van Bronckhorst summary.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst finds himself under massive pressure at Ibrox after another league loss against St Johnstone on Sunday afternoon.
Rangers dominated for much of the first half but were unable to find a breakthrough. By the hour mark, they found themselves two goals down and James Tavernier’s late strike wasn’t enough to salvage a point.

Just moments after the full-time whistle, Crocker delivered a damning summary of Van Bronckhorst on the sidelines.
Via Sky Sports Football (6 November, 1:51pm), Crocker said: “For St Johnstone, a sign of how far they’ve come. But for Giovanni van Bronckhorst a desperate result.
“Despite their domination in the first half they can’t have too many complaints – they were nowhere near good enough.”
Time to go
After such a dismal Champions League campaign, Van Bronckhorst seemed to be surviving by the skin of his teeth at Ibrox thanks to Rangers’ reasonable league form.
Gers still found themselves trailing arch-rivals Celtic in the title race, but Van Bronckhorst was just about keeping Rangers within touching distance – at least until Sunday.

A draw against St Johnstone would’ve been disastrous, a defeat is unforgivable. A seven-point gap to Celtic only seems likely to grow in the upcoming weeks, and Van Bronckhorst will be lucky to survive the World Cup break.
The players seem to be lacking hunger and drive, and Sunday marked the third consecutive league match in which they conceded first.
Change is desperately needed if Rangers are to keep the pressure on Celtic, and while the squad needs a big rebuild, the first change needed is in the managerial hot seat.
