Giovanni van Bronckhorst ‘all-but done’ as Rangers manager as Chris Jack drops Ibrox exit verdict
Giovanni van Bronckhorst is “all-but done” as manager of Rangers after his side slumped to a 2-1 defeat away at St Johnstone on Sunday, according to Chris Jack.
Writing on the Glasgow Evening Times website after the game on 6 November, Jack reported that time could soon be up for van Bronckhorst, 47, at Ibrox.
Defeat to the Saints leaves the Light Blues seven points behind first-placed Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premiership title and with just one win in their last five games in all competitions.

Writing after the loss in Perth, Jack said: “Rangers are all-but done in the Premiership. And Van Bronckhorst is all-but done as boss. In both situations, it is only a matter of when those at Ibrox wish to admit it.”
Who to bring in?
It’s all well and good saying that Rangers should sack van Bronckhorst.
We agree that his position at Ibrox is now untenable.
It feels as though the race for the league title is going nowhere under him and he also brought great shame to the club in the Champions League this season thanks to a series of gutless performances.
Van Bronckhorst took us to the Europa League final and we do appreciate that. But he didn’t win it.
We don’t do second-best here at Ibrox.
Where do Rangers turn to next if they do go ahead and sack the Dutchman?
Michael Beale is doing a great job at QPR but would he walk away from a job he’s doing very well at for one where he could be set up to fail due to the mess he’ll be inheriting from van Bronckhorst?

Steven Gerrard is also available. We’ll leave that up to you whether or not you’d take him back (for the record, we wouldn’t).
Sean Dyche, Gary McAllister, Michael O’Neill and Kjetil Knudsen are also other options that could be explored. We’re also sure that the standard Derek McInnes and Alex Neil speculation will also surface.
We’ll see. But Rangers’ board have known for weeks that this situation has been brewing.
Luckily, they have a long break coming up in which to find a replacement.
