Rangers to snub £6m Malik Tillman signing as transfer clause emerges from Germany – pundit
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Rangers are unlikely to exercise an option-to-buy clause in their loan agreement with Bayern Munich for young attacker Malik Tillman, according to Tam McManus.
BILD journalist Christian Falk reported on 14 September that Rangers can buy Tillman, 20, for the pre-agreed price of around £6million (€7million) next summer.
However, while the USA international had a promising start to life at Ibrox, it’s fair to say that his form has waned in the last couple of months.

Despite getting the occasional goal and assist, McManus doesn’t believe he’s worth the £6million permanent fee that’s been tied into his loan deal and expects to see the attacker head back to Bayern at the end of the season.
“I don’t think they’ll pay that. He’s not had that big an impact,” McManus told Ibrox News.
“He’s shown in flashes that he can be a player.
“He scored a great goal at Motherwell when he went through, beat two or three players and stuck it in the back of the net.
“He also got a nice assist at the weekend [in the 4-1 win over Aberdeen], actually. It was a little cutback to Antonio Colak.
“Tillman has shown glimpses of being a good player but £6million? He’s not worth anything near that.

“I don’t think Rangers would pay that for a player anyway unless he was absolutely on the up.
“I think that loan deal will come to an end without Rangers signing him permanently.”
Since joining Rangers on loan in the summer, Tillman has scored three goals and supplied three assist in 20 appearances across all competitions.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has played the German-born USA international either out wide or as a central attacking midfielder.
In other Rangers news, a “crazy situation” has emerged at Ibrox that’s led to this star player being “gone” from the club.
