Rangers duo Ryan Kent and James Tavernier top Opta stats in Scottish Premiership category
Rangers duo Ryan Kent and James Tavernier have come out on top for the most chances created in the Scottish Premiership season so far in a statistical reveal.
Rangers have had a torrid time of it in Europe this season but haven’t been as bad domestically and now they’ve got some stats to back it up.
Ryan Kent and James Tavernier rank as the top two players in the Scottish Premiership for chances created this season with John Lundstram, according to the Opta Analyst.
Kent and Tavernier rank joint first in the stats revealed by Opta with both talents creating 39 chances each, 78 in total together.
Lundstram came in at third place with 32 chances created, with the nearest Celtic player Matt O’Riley ranking in fifth place with 29 chances produced.
A solid total for Rangers and something that highlights that the race for the Scottish Premiership is far from over.

Positive stats.
The Opta stats could be surprising when you consider some of the dull football Rangers have produced recently.
But it’s definitely a positive sign that things aren’t completely wrong, the chances are getting created, the Gers just need to be more clinical.
Last Saturday’s game against Aberdeen proved this, Rangers could have had eight goals on the day if they had shown a bit more composure in front of the goal.
Kent being at the top of the list may be the reason why Giovanni van Bronckhorst has continued to show undying faith in him.
The stats certainly don’t lie and perhaps they highlight that despite his lack of goals he still provides plenty to the team.
Celtic’s top performer sitting in fifth place is glorious to see and proves that Rangers aren’t as far off from the league leaders as pundits make them out to be.
In a week where Rangers were named the worst-ever UEFA Champions League team, it’s nice to see some stats showcasing some positives from the team.
In other Rangers news, a “crazy situation” has emerged at Ibrox that’s led to this star player being “gone” from the club.
