Ryan Jack Champions League incident surely delivers final Rangers blow as contract silence continues
Ryan Jack has been an excellent servant for Rangers over a number of years after joining the club in the summer of 2017 from Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen.
The 30-year-old has gone on to make 165 appearances for the Gers scoring 12 goals and registering 13 assists from the centre of midfield. He is by no means finished playing at the top level but certainly faces an uncertain future at the club after suffering an untimely injury during the Light Blues’ Champions League humbling by Liverpool.
Jack is now out until the new year with a calf problem and with his contract up in the summer, he is surely staring down the barrel at the moment.

The midfielder has previously revealed no talks have materialised between him and the club when it comes to a new deal at Ibrox (The Daily Record, 30 September) and now that silence must be deafening with an exit becoming more and more likely by the day.
If Jack had avoided injury, there could have been every chance of the midfielder being offered new terms at Ibrox, particularly if he continued to perform at a high level. Now, it’s understandable to see why the Gers may be slightly reluctant to offer him a new deal.

If injuries continue to blight his availability, the club may be better off pursuing alternative options when it comes to the midfield. Rangers desperately need to breathe some more life into the centre of the pitch, particularly with Glen Kamara lacking form, Steven Davis ageing and Scott Arfield reaching the latter stages of his career.
There could well be a huge summer of change in midfield and when the new season comes around hopefully there will be some new quality additions commanding the middle of the park.
In other Rangers news, the club have had to pay a total of £21million to two men who were instrumental in what happened 10 years ago.
