Rangers-linked Jerry Yates given ‘bound to happen’ verdict by BBC pundit
Despite Antonio Colak’s fantastic start to life at Rangers, the search for a striker appears to be carrying on with Jerry Yates being scouted.
The Blackpool talisman has bagged nine goals in the Championship this season and The Sun reported on 23 October that Rangers had sent scouts to watch him recently.
They also report that the Seasiders value the 25-year-old at £5million with Premier League sides Brentford and Brighton also interested in him.

“It’s a little bit on the low side for sure,” BBC pundit Carlton Palmer said to Football League World. “But he’s no proven experience of top-flight football. He wasn’t prolific last year in the Championship.
“However, he was prolific in League one the year before, scoring 20 goals. So, you know, he’s making a lot of noise at the moment. Nine goals in 16 games, he’s providing assists and he’s playing very, very well.
“10 Scouts have gone to watch him, so for me, it seems that something’s bound to happen.”
Open doors
£5million is a lot of money to part with when the Light Blues already have a very potent striker in their side who is currently scoring goals for fun in the Premiership.
But they can’t rely on Colak staying fit for the entire season when Kemar Roofe is incredibly injury-prone behind him and Alfredo Morelos is nearing the end of his contract at Ibrox.

The Colombian international can’t get into Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s starting side at the moment and unless he is willing to sign a new contract with the club, he will be heading out of the door at the end of the season.
Colak was signed because Morelos originally had no cover so bringing in Yates would prevent that same problem from occurring should the Colombian leave.
But with nine goals in the English Championship already this season, the 25-year-old may already be good enough to push Colak for a starting spot at Ibrox and give van Bronckhorst a big selection headache if he is signed.
In other Rangers news, official partners of the football club have been left humiliated after what happened in the Champions League.
