Giovanni van Bronckhorst sack verdict shared after Rangers loss v Ajax
Graham Roberts has suggested that Rangers should give more time to Giovanni van Bronckhorst as he was not properly backed in the market.
The pressure is back on the Dutchman after the Bears lost 3-1 against Ajax in the Champions League at Ibrox on Tuesday night (1 November).
Roberts has suggested that the Dutchman is forced to play James Sands in defence, and wants to see him continue until the World Cup at least.

“He’s had a lot of injuries,” said Roberts on talkSPORT (2 November).
“Losing Goldson against Liverpool..you got with youngsters at the back.
“I think you have got to give him till the break now; for two or three more games. The club have to back him. They haven’t backed him.
“I thought Bassey was a brilliant player. Balogun was a good player. He has lost two decent centre-halves there and not replaced them. You’re playing a midfielder as a centre-half. That can’t happen.”
Moving on
The Champions League campaign has ended for Rangers and there will be a huge sigh of relief at Ibrox.
This has been an embarrassing experience for the club, as they lost all six of their games. In fact, the Bears now hold the worst record in group stages in European Cup history.
While nobody didn’t expect them to qualify for the knockout stages, fans hoped that they would at least give a strong fight. But that was really missing.

Van Bronckhorst won’t be judged for this horrible performance in Europe, but if Rangers drop further points in the league, it will be all over for him.
As long as he keeps the Bears in the hunt for the title, his job probably will be safe. They were brilliant against Aberdeen in the league in their previous game, and need to maintain that sort of performance for the rest of the season.
In other Rangers news, a “crazy situation” has emerged at Ibrox that’s led to this star player being “gone” from the club.
