Michael Beale sets Rangers tongues wagging as he’s spotted arriving at Ibrox amid speculation – pundit

We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…

Tongues will be wagging in the stands at Ibrox after Michael Beale attended Rangers’ win against Aberdeen at the weekend while being linked with replacing Giovanni van Bronckhorst as managed.

Van Bronckhorst alleviated a lot of pressure on himself with a 4-1 win over Aberdeen on Saturday but prior to that Scottish Premiership victory, ex-Gers assistant manager Beale, who’s now in charge at QPR, had been reportedly added to a shortlist of managers at Ibrox.

Sun journalist Alan Nixon reported via his Patreon (16 October) that Beale “ticks all the boxes” for the Ibrox board and, as a result, he’s top of their wishlist should van Bronckhorst be sacked.

Beale was spotted in attendance at Ibrox on Saturday with The Louden Tavern sharing an image of Steven Gerrard’s former right-hand man.

McManus doubts there was much to read into Beale’s decision to go to the win over Aberdeen but that won’t stop it from being something widely discussed by fans.

“I don’t think there was anything untoward [about Beale being at the game],” McManus told Ibrox News.

His team played on Friday night so he probably just came up for the game.

But that would’ve set tongues wagging in the stands amongst the supporters that he was at the game.

Whether that was the right decision for him, as a manager being linked to the job, to go, I don’t know.

But that victory for van Bronckhorst has just quelled some of the pressure on him a wee bit.”

Beale was appointed as QPR manager in June and currently has the West London club sat third in the Championship and just three points short of a spot in the automatic promotion spots.

In other Rangers news, a “crazy situation” has emerged at Ibrox that’s led to this star player being “gone” from the club.
