Chris Sutton mocks Rangers on Twitter ahead of Champions League showdown with Ajax
Chris Sutton has mocked Rangers on social media once again ahead of their Champions League showdown with Ajax on Tuesday night.
The Dutch champions come to Ibrox needing to avoid a five-goal defeat to clinch a Europa League place, while Rangers need to avoid defeat to prevent having the record for the worst group stage record of all time.
But after posting an image on their Twitter account with the match-day information alongside an image of James Tavernier and a roaring lion, Sutton was quick to mock the club with a post of his own.
Sutton quoted the tweet on his personal Twitter account (1 November) and added a GIF image of a tiny kitten meowing, to symbolise what Rangers have actually been in Europe this season.
The former Celtic striker has been taking digs at Rangers all season long following their European failures, so this is just another to add to the list.

In isolation the post is relatively funny to anyone with a sense of humour, but Sutton should probably look in the mirror before doing such a thing.
His beloved Celtic have also already been eliminated from the competition with a game to spare after going winless in a group with Real Madrid, RB Leipzig and Shakhtar Donetsk.

They face the reigning champions in the final group game, so if we win and they lose, two very possible results, then we’d actually end the group stage with more points than them.
Rangers have been awful this season in Europe and we already know that, and it’s obvious that rival fans should rub it in a little.
But some self awareness would’t go amiss and if the above scenario ends up taking place then we hope that Sutton doesn’t go into hiding or complain about the comments he gets in return considering how relentless he’s been with his critique.
