Journalist delivers archaic Ibrox verdict if Rangers lost must-win clash v Aberdeen
Daily Record journalist Michael Gannon has predicted that there would be an archaic revolt at Ibrox if Rangers didn’t manage to overcome the 1-0 deficit against Aberdeen on Saturday.
And he’s not wrong, the atmosphere was tense at Ibrox before kick-off and Rangers going a goal down early on didn’t help matters at all before going on to win 4-1.
Gannon confessed Rangers were facing “outright revolt” when Aberdeen clinched the lead but confessed Giovanni van Bronckhort’s men managed to turn a lot of frowns upside down.

The Daily Record journalist wrote that “Rangers were facing outright revolt when Aberdeen took the lead at Ibrox.
“But this time Gio van Bronckhorst’s men found the backbone to roar back to form and turn some of those frowns upside down.”
The intense heat was something that Rangers playmaker Malik Tillman was fully aware of during Saturday’s clash.
“I came from Bayern Munich – I am kind of used to it. We are under pressure every game, especially from ourselves,” said the forward as quoted by the Daily Record.
“We have the mindset of wanting to win every game. We didn’t win our last game so needed to bounce back. We did that in a good way.”

Thunderous.
This was the thunderous comeback win that van Bronckhorst and Rangers needed so desperately and instilled some hope in the Dutchman moving forward.
The Bears’ lack of confidence was tested early by Aberdeen as Gers went 1 behind against Jim Goodwin’s in-form team.
Colak equalised with his 14th of the season and as Ibrox roared, Rangers never looked back grabbing four more goals on an enjoyable afternoon.
There could have been even more goals if Rangers were a bit more clinical, a positive sign amongst a fair few lacklustre attacking performances recently.
Rangers looked back to their attacking and menacing best against Aberdeen and it looked like the players finally got behind van Bronckhorst’s calls for a positive performance.
Yilmaz and Davies’ injuries during the outing are causes for concerns, however, and the already depleted defence looks to suffer even more woes.
Rangers are back at Ibrox on Tuesday evening for their final UEFA Champions League match against Ajax, they will be hoping to bring some of the intensity from Saturday to the fixture.
In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton has leapt to the Gers’ defence on Twitter after a bizarre rant by a talkSPORT host.
