Kris Boyd delivers enormous Giovanni van Bronckhorst sack verdict if Rangers fall vs Aberdeen

Kris Boyd has revealed that Giovanni van Bronckhorst may face the sack if his Rangers side fails to beat Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon.

The Dutchman is under extreme pressure to deliver some results domestically as his side falls further behind Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premiership.

Boyd admitted that Rangers’ game against Aberdeen was nothing short of “enormous” and claimed one more slip could be the final straw for van Bronckhorst.

“Today is nothing short of enormous for Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his players,” said Boyd in the Scottish Sun.

“One more slip could spell the end for the Gers boss. He’s already under massive pressure after a run of six defeats in 12 games.

“Captain James Tavernier insists the players are still right behind him. But some of those players have already seen two or three other managers off the premises.

“So if I was Van Bronckhorst, I’d be more interested in their actions than their words. They need to do today what they couldn’t do against Livingston last week. Win.”

Rangers

Too right.

Boyd is completely right on this one, Rangers must win today or van Bronckhorst faces the gloomy dreaded axe.

Rangers desperately need to keep up the pace with Celtic but are lagging behind their bitter rivals at the minute.

European humiliation has been the main point of call for fans’ grunts and grumbles with van Bronckhorst and rightly so, the Bears have been awful in Europe this year.

After reaching the Europa League final last season there was no reason for Rangers not to make a dent in the UEFA Champions League this year.

The players don’t seem to be performing for the Dutchman anymore but a big game against Aberdeen may be the remedy to lift spirits.

Fans have the opportunity on Saturday to back van Bronckhorst with an exuberant atmosphere at Ibrox, he deserves a chance at redemption.

Results haven’t been good enough though and anything other than three points sees Gers title hopes drift away alongside van Bronckhorst’s reign.

In other Rangers news, this ex-Premier League manager is a “stand-out” to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst as the manager at Ibrox.
