Pundi makes Giovanni van Bronckhorst sack prediction if one scenario takes place during Rangers v Aberdeen
Rangers face a visit from third-placed Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon, and Tam McManus thinks a loss would spell the end for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Van Bronckhorst somewhat saved his job in the second half v Napoli on Wednesday night. After two early goals from the hosts, it looked as though another European thrashing was on the cards.
However, a much-improved second-half performance made sure the scoreline remained somewhat respectable in Naples. But with the return of the Scottish Premiership this weekend, nothing but a win is acceptable against Aberdeen.

So much so, that McManus believes a loss would result in an immediate sacking for Van Bronckhorst.
“I think a win for Aberdeen, yes, [Van Bronckhorst will lose his job]”, McManus told PLZ Soccer, as quoted by football.scotland.
“I think a draw depending on performance levels, you know, it could be a really great performance and a draw.
“But I just think it’s in the post. It’s inevitable.
“I think he’s not going to be there long, in my opinion.”
Now or never
After extending Rangers’ torrid Champions League record against Napoli midweek, Gers fans desperately need a boost against Aberdeen on Saturday.
But no Rangers fan is viewing Saturday’s showdown as an easy match. Aberdeen have won two on the trot and come to Ibrox knowing they could cut the gap between third and second to just four points with a win.

On top of that, Aberdeen will have watched Rangers in Naples on Wednesday and gained confidence from the team’s fragile defence.
With more pressure than ever before, Van Bronckhorst will be more aware than anyone that three points is essential this weekend. If Rangers lose they risk Celtic opening up a seven-point gap at the top of the table.
Rangers need to make sure they keep applying the pressure, and with the home crowd behind them they should fend off Aberdeen on Saturday.
But a nervy or slow start could spread nerves and anxiety around Ibrox and make it incredibly tough for Van Bronckhorst and his side. A quick, energetic start is needed to get the fans back on their feet.
