Rangers must instantly sack Giovanni van Bronckhorst if they take Champions League record
After five Champions League group stage matches, Rangers have a grand total of zero points and have been embarrassed multiple times.
The 4-0 drubbing in Amsterdam against Ajax really set the tone for what was to come as Liverpool scored nine in two matches and Napoli six in two 3-0 wins.
That leaves the Light Blues just one game to try and salvage some pride from their dismal season in Europe’s elite competition when they host Ajax at Ibrox.

They can still mathematically make it into third in the group if they can beat the Dutch champions 5-0 or better on the night but that looks incredibly unlikely after what they did to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side at the Johan Cruyff ArenA.
In fact, a defeat by more than two goals to Calvin Bassey’s new side would see the Bears take an unwanted record of the worst performance in the history of the Champions League group stages, as per The Times.
If Rangers do end up claiming that highly-unwanted record and humiliating themselves and, to an extent, Scottish football then van Bronckhorst should be sacked on the spot as the full-time whistle goes in Glasgow.

Supporters of the Light Blues are not deluded enough to think that they are the best team in the world who can easily beat anybody but the very least they demand is that the players try to do exactly that.
The Dutch manager has been totally incapable of bringing that fight out of the players last season after carrying them to a Europa League final last season with much more spirit.
Whether it is the penalty defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt or a turbulent summer of exits, van Bronckhorst’s position must become untenable if Ajax tramples Rangers once more at Ibrox.
In other Rangers news, the Old Firm duo are being earmarked for an invitation to a competition shrouded in controversy.
