Simon Jordan delivers damning verdict on Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Rangers

TalkSport pundit Simon Jordan has delivered a damning verdict on Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Rangers after their poor start to the season.

Rangers fell to a crushing defeat yet again in Europe on Wednesday evening, casting further doubts over the rein and capabilities of Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Jordan admitted that the Rangers manager and players simply aren’t “good enough” to compete on Europe’s grandest stage.

“They’re playing at a level that is beyond them. It is a combination of three things: a group that is beyond them, the players aren’t good enough and perhaps the manager isn’t good enough either,” said Jordan as quoted by the Scottish Daily Express.

“I don’t think he’ll be at Rangers for much longer – unless they massively pick things up in the league…I just felt that when you look at the games that really matter to the Rangers fans, the drubbings at the hands of Celtic, he’s left himself wide open to criticism.”

Massive job.

Jordan is right here, Van Bronckhorst has a massive job on his hands to turn things around at Rangers and his future is at the club is looking bleak.

There is a lot of negativity surrounding Rangers at the minute and fans have seemed to completely turn on the Dutchman.

Not-much could be expected against the likes of Napoli and Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League, but Gers look no way near the level needed to even compete with them.

A convincing win infront of the Ibrox faithful will do everyone the world of good on Saturday, it’s needed after two dismal outings.

Anything less than three points may prove to be the final straw for van Bronckhorst and it would be a shame to see things pan out this way for him.

You’ve got to remember that he’s won the Scottish Cup with the club and taken them to a Europa League final, alongside securing a spot in the UEFA Champions League.

In other Rangers news, this Gers star was involved in a “naughty” incident that had a BT Sport pundit talking live on air.
