Rangers stakeholders extend invitation for meeting to chairman Douglas Park
Rangers stakeholders and supporters group, Club 1872, have extended an invitation to Douglas Park to engage in conversation with them.
The Board of Directors at Ibrox have refused to enter into talks with the group ever since Dave King left his role as chairman of the club and Park took over.
But that has not stopped them from trying and they released a statement via their website on 25 October stating that they have tried again to organise a meeting with Park to discuss various ongoings at the club.

“He (King) has indicated a willingness to speak directly to our Contributors, as he did last year, about those concerns, his insight into the running of the club and any other areas of interest to supporters,” the statement read.
“In the interests of fairness, and to provide as many opportunities as possible for our Contributors to hear different perspectives on the current position, we have also extended an invitation to Rangers Chairman, Douglas Park to meet with our Contributors.
“We have informed Mr Park that we will hold a Contributor meeting at a time and date of his choosing between now and December, where he can engage with our Contributors on the same basis as Dave King.”
Shying away
If Park and the Rangers board had nothing to hide from, then they would be more than happy to engage in talks with the club’s supporters about any topic that may arise so this refusal previously makes a bad stink around them.

The last thing the club should be hoping for is to be against one of their stakeholders who has plenty of swing when it comes to the fanbase with every member of their team a lifelong fan of Rangers Football Club.
This is the perfect opportunity to mend the bridge between the two parties and put the previous two years of refusal in the past with a key few years now directly ahead of them.
It now all comes down to whether Park is willing to perhaps swallow his pride on one or two things and let the diehard fans of the club know what is really happening and how he intends to fix things that are currently broken or crumbling down.
