Celtic win could be end of Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Rangers – Alan Rough
Alan Rough has suggested a positive result for Celtic against Livingston could mean the writing is on the wall for Giovanni van Bronckhorst if Rangers fail to beat Aberdeen.
The Gers face a tough trip to Napoli on Wednesday evening before the Dons travel to Ibrox in what is shaping up to be a crunch game.
Celtic travel to Livingston on Sunday (30 October) with a four point gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership after Rangers dropped points to Livi in their last domestic fixture.

Rough believes Celtic picking up three more points after Rangers dropping points against Aberdeen could be the end for van Bronckhorst.
Talking on the PLZ football show (27:25, 25 October), Rough said: “I would throw the scenario of a heavy defeat in Napoli, any points dropped against Aberdeen and then Celtic beating Livingston (could be the end for van Bronckhorst), I would throw that into the equation as well.
“Say it was a draw and that would be six points difference just to compound the whole scenario. I think with a good Allan McGregor performance, they could cut the deficit down to 2-0 against Napoli.”
Huge week
It feels like every week is huge for Rangers at the moment, and after a string of poor performances domestically, this group of players need to pull something together to relieve the growing pressure on van Bronckhorst. Napoli will be written off by most and the trip to Naples will be mainly about the Gers limiting the damage.
However, it’s still important for the players to try their best to get something from the match to keep their increasingly thin chances of Europa League qualification alive. What is absolutely crucial for Gers boss is that he turns things round in the Scottish Premiership and quickly.

The performances against Livingston and Motherwell were well below the standards required and have done nothing to ease the growing pressure on 47-year-old’s shoulders.
Aberdeen travel to Ibrox third in the league and are probably fancying their chances of gettting something. Defeat against the Dons could then see the board really begin to consider the Dutchman’s future at the club.
In other Rangers news, this Gers star was involved in a “naughty” incident that had a BT Sport pundit talking live on air.
