Former Rangers forward Marco Negri warns club of dangerous Napoli tactical switch up

Former Rangers forward Marco Negi has warned the club of a potential tactical change from Napoli ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash.

Rangers currently sit rock bottom of Group A and things won’t get any easier against an in-form Napoli who have emerged as the dark horses to win the competition.

Negi admitted that Rangers should be wary of the “danger” Napoli could pose by changing many of their starting XI, as the Italians have already qualified for the knockout stages.

“Nobody expected Rangers to be so disappointing in this Champions League,” said Negri as quoted by the Daily Record.

“It has exposed so many limitations in terms of the quality of their players. I think Napoli will rotate their team.

“But that could be a danger to Rangers too because they have very crowded attacking options and these guys will be hungry.”

Scary.

Four wins from four games and a total of 17 goals scored already make Napoli a scary prospect to face, never mind it being away from home.

A host of hungry forwards vying for a starting position doesn’t bode well for Gers especially when you consider the club’s current young makeshift backline.

It’s hard to be confident going into any game at the moment, especially the UEFA Champions League, the 7-1 humiliation at the hands of Liverpool still hurts.

Van Bronckhorst needs to go super defensive on Wednesday evening to avoid any mishaps, his job will be on the line in this one.

Another big damning defeat would likely spell the end for the Dutchman at Ibrox, something it seems a majority of fans want to happen.

It remains to be seen how both sides will line up, Gers can only hope that the Napoli team takes it easy having already qualified for the knockout stages.

In other Rangers news, van Bronckhorst is “finished” at Ibrox.
