Rabbi Matondo travels with Rangers squad ahead of Napoli clash

Rabbi Matondo has travelled with the Rangers squad ahead of their Champions League game against Napoli, as confirmed by Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

However, midfielder Glen Kamara is still not fully fit yet and remains absent for this clash. He is expected to return in the next match.

The Bears are yet to pick up a point from their opening four games, but Van Bronckhorst is confident of getting a positive result.

Van Bronckhorst said, as relayed by Rangers Twitter handle: “Kamara didn’t make it, too soon in his recovery but hopefully back for the weekend. Matondo is fit after a small injury at weekend and has travelled with us.”

Tough game

The Bears in real problem at the moment, and there is little optimism that they can get something from this game.

Napoli are in great form this season, and they defeated Liverpool 4-1 on their home turf.

The Serie A giants have already qualified for the knockout stages, so there is a chance they could field a weaker team.

Rangers have got nothing to lose, but they can give themselves a chance to qualify for the Europa League if they can get a win here.

Van Bronckhorst is under a lot of pressure at the moment. The Bears have been lacklustre in their recent games, and the results have been really poor.

The Dutchman could face the sack if the situation doesn’t improve.

Another heavy defeat could be morally damaging for the club, and it will put further pressure on Van Bronckhorst.

It will be really tough to beat Napoli away from home, but a victory here would be massive.
