Giovanni van Bronckhorst gives fitness update on Leon King ahead of clash v Napoli
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has given a fitness update on Rangers defender Leon King after the defender was taken off at half-time against Livingston.
King’s current importance to the team is vital with Connor Goldson, John Souttar and Filip Helander all out with long-term injuries on the sidelines.
Van Bronckhorst admitted that King left the pitch on Saturday afternoon because he was feeling “nauseous”, suggesting he’ll be in contention to start against Napoli.

“He had to come off because he was feeling a little bit sick and nauseous,” said Van Bronckhorst as quoted by Football Scotland.
“So that was why we brought James in.
“It’s a big game against a really good opponent, at the moment one of the best teams in Europe. We need to get something out of the game to have a slight chance of going further in Europe.
“But it’s going to be difficult. First of all my focus is to pick the right team and start in the right manner. We have to do everything we can to get a good result.”

Final straw.
Rangers now sit four points behind Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership as a stoppage-time equaliser from John Ludstram saved them from humiliation against Livingston.
Surely Van Bronckhort’s rein cannot go on much further, the team looks to be getting worse and worse as the games creep by and the season is close to going missing.
The squad lacks invention and the Dutchman’s tactics have become predictable and boring, where is the side that got to the Europa League final last season?
Livingston was the final straw and surely another drubbing at the hands of Napoli in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday would spell the end for Van Bronckhorst.
The squad is completely short on confidence and the Gers manager’s boring brand of football has caused the famous Ibrox atmosphere to yawn one too many times.
Livingston should have spelled the end, however, it seems Van Bronckhorst is living to fight another day, they don’t come much harder than Napoli at the moment, this one has humiliation written all over it.
In other Rangers news, van Bronckhorst is “finished” at Ibrox with a journalist sharing his sack verdict on the Dutchman.
