Kenny Dalglish highlights importance of Kemar Roofe Rangers return
Kenny Dalglish has highlighted the importance of Rangers striker Kemar Roofe to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s setup and says his return will be a big boost.
The 29-year-old striker has been sidelined all season and made a return from injury in substitute appearances in Gers’ last two games.
Dalglish admitted that Roofe’s “quality” will be needed for Van Bronckhorst’s side moving forward and his return is positive news for the Bears.

“Positive news on the strikers’ front? Well, for Rangers it has to be the return of Kemar Roofe,” said Dalglish as quoted by Football Scotland.
“He has been sidelined by injury for a huge chunk of 2022, and has missed some massive games. There is no doubting the quality he possesses.
“If he can stay fit, what an asset he will be for Giovanni and the team. The Light Blues have a busy schedule in the next few weeks.
“It’s vital they have as many players as possible to choose from. Giovanni knows it hasn’t been good enough recently, with yesterday’s dropped points another low.
“The Rangers supporters have been making their feelings known. But this is a time to stick together and be one. It’s not a time to be divided and pulling in different directions.”

Big boost.
There is no denying that Roofe’s return to action is a big one for Rangers, the forward has been sorely missed this season.
In his cameo appearances, Roofe has looked a level above the rest of the squad and once he’s fit and fully firing he can be a nuisance for Gers.
Rangers have missed the Jamaica international’s pace, power and movement up top and he offers something different from their current options.
Alfredo Morelos and Antonio Colak have both been misfiring recently, so it’s pivotal Van Bronckhorst can turn elsewhere for some ideas going forward.
Roofe could even be used on the right wing, he’s a much better option there than wantaway Ryan Kent at the moment.
If anything, Roofe’s return adds some much-needed depth to the forward ranks at Rangers and Van Bronckhorst now has Colak, Morelos, Roofe and Sakala to choose from.
Now, it’s all about keeping Roofe as fit as possible, Rangers will need him at his very best if they stand any chance of winning silverware this season.
