Rangers midfielder Scott Wright says there is always pressure to succeed at the club
Rangers midfielder Scott Wright has claimed there is always pressure to succeed at the club and that’s why you want to play for them.
Gers have had an up-and-down start to the season but they are still within touching distance of Celtic in the fight for the Scottish Premiership.
Wright admitted there is a “pressure” that comes with joining and playing for Rangers but confessed that’s why you want to play for the club.

“There is always pressure at a club like this,” he told STV. “It’s why you want to be at a club like this. It means you are fighting for competitions, for cups and leagues.
“What we achieved last year is done now. No one speaks about that in the changing room. It’s about trying to build each week on what we’re trying to do. We’re in the League Cup semi-final, we’re quite high in the league.
“It’s about trying to build on that. I know our performances haven’t been there. We know that as a team.
“We can take the positives of getting results and seeing games out. It’s not as convincing as we’d want it to be, but the most important thing is getting points or getting through to the next round of the cup.“

Fresh legs.
The pressure is mounting on Rangers and it’s obviously taking an effect on the players’ performances, but the team is still grinding out results.
They may not be pretty but there are still enough points on the board to make a title challenge, performances do need to improve though.
The players were booed off the pitch in Tuesday’s win over Dundee, a sign of the tides potentially turning on Giovanni Van Bronckhorst.
Gers have been a shadow of the team that reached the Europa League final last year and emphatically beat RB Leipzig in the semi-finals of the competition.
But instead of reminiscing, the team needs to rebuild on that, unfortunately, this starts with the tight-purse stringed Hierarchy at the helm of the club.
Losing key talents in the summer has taken its toll on this Rangers squad and the next transfer window would be a good time to invest in some fresh legs.
Everyone knows this is what needs to be done to take the team to the next level.
In other Rangers news, this Gers player “knows he’s done” after BBC Sportscene shared footage of him.
