Ridvan Yilmaz makes decision on Rangers future amid transfer speculation
Ridvan Yilmaz has made a decision on his future with Rangers amid recent transfer speculation and won’t be leaving the club, according to Aspor.
The Turkish left-back joined the club in the summer transfer window in a deal worth around £5m as a replacement for the Ajax-bound Calvin Bassey, but has so far made just four appearances for the club in all competitions.
That had led to speculation that he could be set for a swift return to his homeland with both Trabzonspor and Galatasaray eyeing a loan move in January, but the player has decided to stay and fight for his place at Ibrox.

“It has been learned the the national player, who has been on the radar of Trabzonspor and Galatasaray in the last period, and that both clubs want to add to [their] staff on loan, did not respond positively to the offers and will continue his career at Rangers,” the report said [18 October].
In his four appearances so far this season Yilmaz has registered one assist, but has managed just 75 minutes in the Scottish Premiership.
Give him a chance
This is the perfect type of mentality for Yilmaz to really make it at Rangers, and it’s exactly what the fans will want to see and hear.
So far Borna Barisic has been the first choice left-back at the club but he has consistently delivered poor performances on the biggest stages, including in the Champions League where they have lost four of four games.
Fans have been begging for the 21 year old to get a chance in the team to show what he’s worth, considering that he was an expensive signing and hasn’t really been given a look in.
But hearing this from him will only improve his chances of getting a run out with the team, with the fans backing him to come good and do well, he will grow in confidence and be hungry to take his chance when it comes.
Yilmaz is likely to start in the cup game against Dundee on Wednesday night, and if he does well there then the world is his oyster.
