Kemar Roofe ready to return, James Tavernier fit ahead of Rangers v Dundee
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed that Kemar Roofe will be in the Rangers squad for their Scottish League Cup game against Dundee on Wednesday.
The Gers striker has been long absent with injuries, but it seems he is finally fit, and the Dutchman wants to use him as he looks to rotate his squad for this fixture.
The Dutchman also confirmed that James Tavernier is fit, while youngster Alex Lowry is also close to returning to full fitness.

“Tavernier is fit, he is fine. We will rotate the squad tomorrow, we need to find a balance in the load for the players with a small squad at the moment with injuries. We need to be smart,” said Van Bronckhorst, as quoted by the Scottish Daily Express.
“Lowry is playing today with the B-Team to give him minutes, he is close to a return to play with the first-team. Roofe is in the squad for tomorrow, he is ready for minutes which we will try to give him.”
Run of games
Tavernier has been ever-present for the club this season, and Van Bronckhorst probably will look to give him some rest.
He looked uncomfortable while training prior to Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Motherwell. However, Tavernier is fully fit.
The cup fixture against Dundee is the perfect opportunity for Van Bronckhorst to rotate his squad.
Kemar Roofe is a senior player who can add experience and quality to the side. If he gets going, the Bears will have an additional force in their attacking set-up.

The likes of Ridvan Yilmaz and Rabbi Matondo – the two summer signings – will be desperate to get some minutes and they could be included in the squad against Dundee.
It looks like Lowry is also not far behind from returning to action. With a pile of fixtures coming up, the return of players like Roofe and Lowry comes as a welcome relief.
Alfredo Morelos, who has mainly played as a back-up behind Antonio Colak, could start although the possibility of Roofe starting can’t be ruled out.
In other Rangers news, an official partner of the Gers has called on the board to sack van Bronckhorst and Ross Wilson.
