Kenny Miller believes Rangers’ poor form is down to lack of confidence

Rangers have been suffering in Europe this season and former player Kenny Miller believes the club’s poor form is down to a lack of confidence.

The Bears have won all their domestic fixtures since losing to Celtic, nevertheless, their torrid form in Europe has sparked some poor performances as of late.

Miller believes Gers are “suffering” because they’ve been pitted against some of Europe’s best teams, with individuals and the team needing a boost of confidence.

“I think what they suffering from at the moment is a lot of heavy defeats in Europe,” said Miller as quoted by the Daily Record.

“And obviously that Celtic game was also a heavy defeat. As a team and as individuals, they look like they’re just lacking a bit of confidence at the moment.

“But as I’ve said, the positive side of that is that they’re still getting wins. These guys went to the Europa League Final last season and put on so many wonderful performances, won the league before, going the whole domestic season undefeated. They’re not bad players, they’re just suffering a little bit at the moment for one reason or another.”

Spark.

Rangers need a spark, something different to bring into their side, their current injury-torn squad are definitely struggling and it’s silly to say they’re not.

Whether or not Giovanni van Bronckhorst deserves to be sacked after recent results is questionable, but his tactics and way of playing won’t take Gers much further.

Despite being unbeaten domestically since the Celtic defeat, Gers have looked way off it at times and grinding out results against poor opposition isn’t much to boast about.

There either needs to be more investment in the team or a change of manager to take the Bears to the next level, that’s if Rangers are ambitious about challenging for silverware.

They could easily coast along like they are doing now and pretend nothing is wrong, but that will be at their own peril.

It feels like Van Bronckhorst is just one loss away in the Scottish Premiership before it’s curtains.
