Barry Ferguson ‘in the dark’ over Ridvan Yilmaz amid Rangers transfer rumours
Ridvan Yilmaz has been forced to sit on the sidelines for much of his time at Rangers and Barry Ferguson cannot understand why.
The 21-year-old was brought in to challenge Borna Barisic for the left-back position but the Croatian has played the vast majority of games and minutes so far this season.
The Turkish international has now been attracting interest from his homeland as clubs look to bring him in on loan but Ferguson wants to see more of him at Ibrox first.

“I’ve not seen enough of him,” he told Go Radio. “I watched the Queen of the South game and I’m not being disrespectful, but it’s hard to judge players in that game.
“I’m surprised and a lot of Rangers fans, whether it’s in the street or in the shop, are bringing up his name. What’s going on? Why’s he not playing?
“I’m in the dark like many other Rangers supporters. When you shell that sort of fee out, you expect him to be at least pushing. Sometimes he’s not even been in the 18.”
Stubborn
Giovanni van Bronckhorst obviously trusts Barisic enormously despite all of the blatant evidence on the contrary and he is being stubborn that he is right and the critics are wrong.
Unfortunately, that is the kind of attitude that gets managers sacked in this day and age and if he insists on not playing his big-money summer recruit then he will quickly find himself at the job centre.

Yilmaz could be a huge upgrade on Barisic at left-back but he needs to play a number of games in a row to get used to the tempo of the Scottish game and his fellow teammates.
Everybody has seen more than enough of the Croatian international now to know that he is not good enough to perform in big matches when he is truly needed.
Countless errors in the Old Firm and Champions League matches should now see him banished to the bench and the 21-year-old finally given his long overdue chance.
In other Rangers news, it could soon be time for the Light Blues to pull the managerial trigger as Premier League interest in this targeted boss emerges.
