Heart and Hand podcast blast Rangers squad for shocking performance in win v Motherwell

Heart and Hand podcast have blasted the Rangers squad for their performance in Sunday’s clash with Motherwell, despite a 2-1 win and three points.

The Gers sealed a huge win in the SPFL thanks to a wonder goal from Malik Tillman and a John Lundstram header, but faced a nervy end to the game when McKinstry curled home a free-kick.

Despite holding on for three points to close the gap on Celtic back down to two points, the club’s official partner weren’t happy and shared those sentiments on their official Twitter account.

“We’ll take the 3 points but my God that was a tough watch,” he said. “Far too many way off form.”

It was Rangers’ first game since the 7-1 hammering by Liverpool at Ibrox in midweek, and they responded with a big win at a tough ground.

Awful

Despite the great result, which it undoubtedly is, the performance was shoddy and it’s no surprise that fans weren’t happy.

Most fans and pundits alike knew the result was the most important thing on Sunday, but they also wanted a big reaction to the midweek shenanigans and it just didn’t come.

There was no real urgency, the players didn’t control the game as they should do and ultimately it was a result owing to the individual quality of the team rather than the performance of the team on the day.

On another day Rangers could have been punished for their lacklustre performance, but they were fortunate to come up against a side that didn’t have the quality to punish them.

Simply winning games is fine, but it’s not enough for the standards of Rangers and more needs to be seen by the fans in the next game to put things right from the Liverpool game.
