Chris Sutton slaughters Rangers on BT Sport with prank towards Ally McCoist

Chris Sutton has continued to mock Rangers and legend Ally McCoist on BT Sport’s Scottish Football Extra show after their thumping by Liverpool.

The Gers were humiliated at Ibrox on Wednesday night by Liverpool as they were smashed 7-1 in the Champions League, eliminating them from the group stages with two games to spare and no points to their name.

And Sutton, formerly of Celtic of course, made sure to rub co-host McCoist’s nose in it when he played a practical joke while on air about the result as the Rangers legend admitted that the team “capitulated”.

As host Darrell Currie asked McCoist about the result and performance, Sutton slowly held up a sign with the number seven on it and shouted “seven,” mimicking former Dancing on Ice judge Len Goodman’s famous catchphrase.

It further added to the embarrassment that Rangers have suffered this week after the disgraceful performance, which sees them currently on the verge of the worst group stage performance in competition history.

Horrible

The game on Wednesday was a horrible reminder of just how far away from the elite Rangers remain, and a sign of how far there is to go to get to where they want to be.

But worse than that, it gives all the rivals a chance to really rub salt into the wounds because of the nature of the defeat and that is what makes it unbearable.

Rangers

Celtic have also been eliminated from the tournament with two games to spare after they were beaten on Tuesday, but it shows how bad we were that Sutton still has the audacity to be able to come out and mock us.

Something huge needs to be done at Ibrox in response, and that should start with sending a warning to the rest of the league that the gap between them and us is as big if not bigger than from us to Liverpool.

Get a big win against Motherwell on Sunday lunchtime and work towards getting our title back, and lets see who has the last laugh at the end of the season.
