Rangers official partner calls board to sack Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ross Wilson after defeat v Liverpool

Rangers’ official commercial partner Four Lads Had A Dream has called on the board to sack manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst and sporting director Ross Wilson.

It comes after the Gers suffered a humiliating 7-1 defeat against Liverpool at Ibrox in the Champions League on Wednesday night (12 October).

After having some time to think about the result, Four Lads took to Twitter to call on major action from the Ibrox board, asking for heads to roll over repeated heavy defeats this summer.

“Last night was the final straw for myself,” said the Gers’ official partner via Twitter on Thursday morning (13 October).

“The management team have presided over too many heavy results to survive.

“Zero trust in Ross Wilson, who trumpeted his role in their appointment and presided over this squads position.

“Time for the board to remove both before it’s too late.”

Gio needs to stay

Rangers have been battered in the Champions League by Napoli, Ajax and Liverpool – three teams who are in it every year and three teams with way better squads than ours.

We’re not saying that the 7-1 defeat to Liverpool was embarrassing – it was – but it’s not something that was never on the cards going into the game.

Connor Goldson’s injury changed everything, unfortunately.

For the majority of that game, we were the better side and it wasn’t until the last half an hour or so where the capitulation started.

Liverpool just suddenly flicked a switch; a Mohamed Salah-shaped switch.

As soon as he came on it was game over and as he has such a point to prove, we were unlucky to be on the end of a drubbing.

We’re not at panic stations over this result and other results in the Champions League group stage. It was a big enough achievement by van Bronckhorst to get us to the group stages to cover over these defeats.

But Wilson’s work behind the scenes regarding recruitment has been unacceptable and it’s inexcusable given.

If anyone needs to go, it’s him.
