Rangers in major Connor Goldson blow with long return timescale mooted
Rangers are set to be without central defender Connor Goldson for a long time after he picked up an injury against Liverpool, according to the Daily Record.
The 29-year-old won a strong challenge with Darwin Nunez in the first half but pulled up as he did so and was forced off to a standing ovation from the Ibrox crowd.
Daily Record now believes that Goldson has suffered a suspected severe thigh muscle tear in the incident which could force him to miss months of the season.

Initial thoughts were that he could return before the World Cup break but scans behind the scenes ruled that out and confirmed the worst for the Englishman who has been an ever-present since he turned up in Glasgow.
Leon King replaced him against Liverpool who went on to score six of their seven goals after the change in a thumping win for the Premier League side.
Paper-thin
Giovanni van Bronckhorst suddenly has a major problem in central defence with only Ben Davies and teenager King fully fit to start at the moment.
Goldson joins John Souttar and Filip Helander as players with long-term injuries at Auchenhowie and only a few B team youngsters are also available if the worst were to happen at the senior level.

There is always a possibility that John Lundstram is asked to fill in at centre-half as he did at times last season when injuries and suspensions piled up with Borna Barisic also an option if needs be.
But the Croatian produced a horror show against Liverpool and particularly Mohamed Salah who tore him to shreds with a six-minute hat-trick.
The summer just gone saw two centre-halves leave and two replace them but that hasn’t sorted the depth issues that have plagued van Bronckhorst during his whole time at Rangers so far
In other Rangers news, this respected journalist now expects one Light Blues star to be a hit property in January with his contract ending this summer.
