Jason Cundy clashes with Rangers fan live on talkSPORT as tempers flare after 7-1 defeat v Liverpool
Jason Cundy was involved in a fierce argument with a Rangers fan live on talkSPORT on Wednesday night after the 7-1 defeat to Liverpool at Ibrox in the Champions League.
A Gers fan called into the radio show to argue that the huge defeat wasn’t embarrassing, even though it saw the Gers leading the game, only to concede six second-half goals and lose.
Rangers are now rooted to the bottom of their group with only a faint hope of finishing third and making the Europa League knock-out stages after Christmas.

It all started at 10:35pm when Rangers fan Shaun said, as shown on YouTube: “You keep using the word ’embarrassing’, I’m not so sure.
“How can you say ’embarrassing’? Our starting 11 was worth £40million.”
Jamie O’Hara was unmoved by that, saying: “Okay, but you’re in the Champions League, you got to the Europa League final last season.”
Cundy then argued, saying “you should be embarrassed” for losing 7-1 and batted away suggestions that because Liverpool beat Bournemouth 9-0 in the Premier League, that makes it less embarrassing for Rangers.
Shaun continued: “We were punching above our weight last season, we were unbelievable. And if you know about Scottish football, we had players bang off form, Gio got us tight last week defensively and we came out this week and got pumped.
“That’s fine but it’s definitely not embarrassing.”

Cundy replied: “It is, Shaun.
“At any level of football, to concede seven goals… I’m sorry, Shaun. And you know what, Shaun? You know it is. You should be embarrassed with your side.”
After asking why he should be embarrassed, Cundy raised his voice, shouting: “Because you’ve been pumped seven at home.”
Shaun said: “Come on, Liverpool have done that to plenty better teams than Rangers. Our whole midfield were free transfers other than Ryan Kent, £7million from Liverpool. Be realistic.”
O’Hara then challenged the caller. He said: “You’re acting like Rangers aren’t a huge club, you’re acting like you weren’t in the Europa League final or you’re not fighting for the title in Scotland.
“Come on, it’s the Champions League. You’ve got to give better than that.”
Shaun then accused O’Hara and Cundy of not be realistic and just trying to “provoke callers”.
Ex-Chelsea player Cundy clearly took offence to that, saying: “What do you mean? Are you joking me, Shaun? Are you having this phone call with a straight face?
“You conceded five goals in 30 minutes. Are you saying that that’s okay?”
Deluded
Liverpool are a good team.
They’re better than Rangers, they have more money than Rangers and they were always expected to win at Ibrox.
But we didn’t expect to lose 7-1 at home and there’s no denying at all that the result was an absolute embarrassment and one of the worst we’ve ever had in Europe.
It’s not on the level of losing to Progres Niederkorn in the Europa League qualifiers but clearly, conceding seven goals at home is unacceptable at any level for a club the size of Rangers.
We battled so hard in the first half.
Scott Arfield’s goal deservedly put us into the lead while we might have also been able to grab a second if we had a bit more luck.
But all luck had run out by the time Connor Goldson went off injured just before the break and our defence absolutely crumbled.
If the players’ performances weren’t embarrassing, the shambolic recruitment that’s led the squad to this point is.
